Kratos and GE Aerospace’s GEK800 Engine Receives U.S. Military Type Designation F143-ZZ-100 and EMD Contract Award for JASSM

The 800-lb thrust turbofan will power the JASSM missile as a second propulsion source, backed by a new U.S. Air Force EMD contract.

Kratos and GE Aerospace have completed over 50 ground engine starts and altitude testing at Purdue's Zucrow Laboratories since 2023.

The engine targets low-cost, mass-manufacturable propulsion for cruise missiles, drones and collaborative combat aircraft.
