• Poland launched ORP Wicher, its first Miecznik-class frigate, at Gdańsk Bay, part of a $3.8bn naval modernisation programme.

  • The frigate carries Mk 41 VLS with ExLS modules optimised for CAMM/SeaCeptor, configuring it for fleet air defence, not land-attack strike.

  • Based on Babcock's Arrowhead 140 design (shared with the Royal Navy's Type 31), Wicher is due for delivery in 2029.
