The launch: Rheinmetall successfully launched its FV-014 loitering munition from its Containerized Missile Launcher during a July 2026 customer demonstration at Cochstedt, Saxony-Anhalt, firing from a Rheinmetall HX truck both stationary and moving.
The capabilities: The FV-014 combines reconnaissance, target identification, and precision strike in one system with up to 100km range and 70 minutes flight time, weighs around 22kg with a 6kg HEDP warhead penetrating over 600mm of armour, and supports swarm operations to saturate enemy defences.
The launcher: The modular Containerized Missile Launcher, built on standard ISO containers, can hold up to 18 FV-014 units, deploys on land vehicles or naval vessels, and uses COTS components with an integrated "sleeper" capability for remote activation, keeping lifecycle costs down.
