The deal: Rolls-Royce signed with Sabena technics to support the binational French-German C-130J fleet's AE 2100D3 engines through December 2030, as a subcontract under CAROLUS, France's ten-year readiness programme. Rolls-Royce supplies flight-hour-based sustainment via its MissionCare model.
The squadron: The Binational Air Transport Squadron at Évreux-Fauville flies five C-130Js and five KC-130J tankers under a pooled Franco-German agreement dating to 2017, filling tactical airlift and refuelling roles the larger A400M isn't suited to.
The setup: Rolls-Royce field reps will embed at Évreux and Bordeaux alongside Sabena technics staff, with both companies framing it as proactive, hands-on readiness management rather than a standard supply arrangement.
