KAI and Hyundai Rotem signed a memorandum to develop a sovereign Meteor-class missile for the KF-21, targeting 200km range and Mach 4.
The ramjet-powered missile aims to reduce reliance on MBDA's Meteor and Germany's IRIS-T, with completion targeted around 2033, mass production near 2035.
The programme also supports "package-type" exports pairing KF-21 fighters with Korean missiles, aimed at Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
